Dr. Anish Kirpalani


A radiologist with over 10 years of broad practice experience in both academic and private/community settings in Canada and the USA. He has been a staff radiologist at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto since 2009, where he is also the medical director of the St. Michael’s MRI Research Centre, an Associate Scientist at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto. In addition to maintaining a busy clinical practice, Anish has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and has given numerous invited presentations in the fields of abdominal and cardiovascular radiology. Anish is a strong supporter of innovative educational programs, both professionally and in community service. He has a background in both engineering and medicine.

Mickey Jackman

Vice Chair

As the Head of Global Retail Operations, Chrome OS at Google. Mickey is responsible for leading a large in house and outsourced sales team that are focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences at scale with Google’s retail partners globally. Prior to this role, Mickey was the Head of Strategy & Operations for Google Canada responsible for enabling and  supporting the successful delivery of business plans, market initiatives and overall operational  excellence for the digital ads business.  Prior to joining Google in 2015, Mickey was the Head of the Integrated Customer Experience  Division and member of the Canadian leadership team at Apple Canada. Prior to Apple, Mickey was the Director, National Retail at TELUS and held several senior leadership roles in sales, strategic planning, channel marketing, operations and training at TELUS, Mars and Heinz.  Mickey is active in the community and serves on the Pancreatic Cancer Canada board of directors. PCC is a not for profit organization dedicated to improving pancreatic cancer survival. Mickey joined the board in 2017 and was elected to the role of Vice Chair in 2018. Mickey resides in Oakville, Ontario with his wife Joanna and their two young children. When he is not chasing his kids around, you can find Mickey trying to improve his golf game, experiencing new cuisines or planning the next exciting family vacation. 

Jonathan Paul


Mr. Paul is a Vice-President, Client Wealth Management at Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc., a member of the Firm’s Asset Mix team and a registered Portfolio Manager. Mr. Paul received an Honours Business Administration degree, with distinction, from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. He has also earned his Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) designation and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation. Prior to joining Gluskin Sheff in 2009, Mr. Paul was a Senior Associate with Deloitte & Touche, Corporate Finance Canada Inc. Mr. Paul is a member of the Toronto Hebrew Memorial Parks Investment Committee.

Dr. Michael Clarfield

Past Chair

Michael is a sports medicine physician in Toronto. After graduating from medical school at The University of Toronto in 1980, he became the first physician to practice full time sports medicine in Toronto. He is now the director of The Sports Medicine Specialists in Toronto which is the largest sports medicine clinic in Canada. He is presently the Team Physician for Tennis Canada, Company Physician for The National Ballet of Canada, and Head Physician to the NHL. Previously Michael was the Head Physician for the Toronto Maple Leafs (1989-2004), Team Physician Toronto Argonauts (2009-2013), and Team Physician Spidertech UCI Pro Cycling Team. He is also an Assistant Professor at The University of Toronto. Michael is happily married with two children. He enjoys many recreational activities especially cycling, skiing, hockey and golf.

Christopher Andrews

As President of The&Partnership, Christopher is responsible for setting the company’s strategic vision and growth path in the Canadian market, as well as managing the operations in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. The&Partnership’s Canadian offering was established in 2014 and has a growing client base that includes TELUS, Sleeman Breweries, Purolator, Volvo, Manulife and the City of Toronto. Christopher returned to his hometown of Toronto in 2015 to take the helm after several years abroad, most recently leading the Leo Burnett Group’s global Cola-Cola brands business from their global headquarters in Chicago. His responsibilities covered disciplines including brand advertising, digital, shopper marketing and activation for markets as diverse as the US, LATAM, Western Europe and Asia-Pacific. In his years in Chicago he also was actively involved in supporting the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the larger distributor of food to pantries in the Midwest for people in need. Prior to serving with Leo Burnett, Christopher spent a decade with TAXI in roles of increasing responsibility, from being one of seven employees to launch TAXI 2 in 2006, to serving as Managing Director of TAXI in Amsterdam, Netherlands, following the agency’s acquisition of a local digital company. Christopher has always loved the balance of art and commerce that lies at the heart of the industry in which he works and is a passionate believer in the power of creativity to drive business and to better the world. Over the years he has had the privilege of creating results-driven work with some of the world’s greatest brands and companies including Unilever, Heineken, Nike, Pfizer, Procter and Gamble and Coca-Cola.

Cyndi Ankenman

A passionate advocate for both caregivers and families, Cyndi’s philanthropic focus has been on pancreatic research since losing her husband, Darren, four years ago to the disease. As her husband’s primary caregiver, Cyndi was shocked at the medical communities’ lack of support for patient’s caregivers and families and will be spearheading a national outreach program as part of her role on the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation’s Board. Living in Vancouver, Cyndi will also ensure that our families on the west coast of Canada are always represented.

Mark Bridgman

As Senior Vice-president and President, TELUS Retail Limited, Mark leads and supports the team responsible for the end-to-end experience of our retail points of distribution. With more than 3,000 team members coast to coast, their primary focus is to evolve and transform TELUS’ award-winning retail and customer experience and become a leading destination for digital lifestyle and business solutions. Mark also oversees the small business segments that have more than 400 TELUS Stores and Koodo Shops, 225 dealer partners, Direct to Consumer for FFH, and our key national retailer partners. He is also a proud board member for iStore. Previous to this role, Mark was Vice-president, TELUS Stores, Koodo Shops and Channel Development. Under Mark’s leadership, the team successfully introduced the new TELUS Connected Experience store, where customers can experience and explore complete solutions to meet their lifestyle needs, guided by specially trained team members. During his time as the Vice-president, he was responsible for the sales of wireless consumer and FFH products through multiple channels, Trade Marketing support, Continuous Learning, and Channel Support groups nationally. Mark’s career began with ClearNet with the launch of Mike service in 1996. Since then, he has held several senior roles in Marketing Operations, Product Development, Trade Marketing, and Channels. In 2016, Mark became a board member of both PCCF and Wellspring. His community involvement also extends to other organizations, such as Camp Oochigeas through the Sporting Life 10K, Adopt-a-Family, and Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope. Among his many unique characters is his dedication to wearing his world-renowned patterned socks to work which has been unrelenting from his first day at TELUS. Mark and his team truly support and believe in the TELUS value of giving where we live.

Jason Roberts

Jason is a trial lawyer at Fillmore Riley LLP; a leading full-service law firm in Winnipeg. Jason obtained a Bachelor of Science in 2007, a Bachelor of Laws in 2010, and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2011. In 2012 and 2013, Jason lived in Ottawa while working as a Law Clerk for the Honourable Justice Louis LeBel of the Supreme Court of Canada. Jason joined the Board of Pancreatic Cancer Canada in February 2019, shortly after he lost his mother to pancreatic cancer. In his spare time, Jason enjoys spending time with his young family and is also an avid amateur golfer.

Hilen Wong

Hilen leads the TELUS Stores and Koodo Shops teams. In this role, his team is responsible for increasing sales and providing exceptional customer experience in TELUS Stores and Koodo Shops. He does this with the support of over 2,700 team members across Canada. Hilen and his team also proudly support TELUS’ commitment to Give Where We Live by actively fundraising and volunteering with partners such as Pancreatic Cancer Canada and One Walk to Conquer Cancer.

In over 15 years at TELUS, Hilen has held various leadership roles at TELUS including positions in Business Intelligence, Product Development, Pricing and National Retail. Trained as an electrical engineer, Hilen worked as a management consultant supporting clients primarily in the communications sector prior to joining TELUS.

Hilen and his wife Karen have two wonderful children. In his spare time, Hilen enjoys spending time with his family.
