In a disease with such a high mortality rate, there are critical issues that are faced by patients and families at the end-stage of their cancer.  We currently provide top-line information about palliative care and finding physical comfort (e.g. diet and nutrition) but we know that pain, anxiety, depression and the affect of a traumatic diagnosis weigh heavily on this experience.
