About The Race

Pancreatic Cancer Canada’s Run For Survival (formerly known as Kathy’s Run) began in Edmonton in 2011 in honour of Kathy McCollum, who lost her fight with pancreatic cancer. Kathy’s passion for running inspired her friends, family, and colleagues to create this event to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research.

In its first year, the goal for the run was to recruit 100 participants and raise $10,000. The support was overwhelming: the first run had almost 500 participants and raised more than $50,000. Fast forward 13 years, and the race has since raised over $950,000 and engaged thousands of participants.

By participating in Run For Survival, you will help those Canadians impacted by this terrible disease and support our efforts to improve survival rates.

Race Day

Last year, over 420 participants crossed the finish line with us at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, in person and virtually, collectively raising over $50,000 bringing our life-time total of over $950,000 raised for pancreatic cancer research! This year, we aim to raise another $55,000 which would mark a new milestone of over $1 million raised in the fight against this deadly disease, and we need your support to do it!

Registration opens Friday, June 7!

We can’t wait to see you all again at the finish line in 2024. Together, we can raise the rate of pancreatic cancer survival!
