Advocacy & Awareness
Awareness of pancreatic cancer is exceptionally low compared to other cancers, despite it being one of the deadliest cancers in North America. This is why our efforts to raise the profile of this disease and educate the public, healthcare professionals, and government, are critical to diagnosing pancreatic cancer quicker and making sure patients receive the best treatment and care available. By understanding the key issues and sharing our knowledge with communities from coast to coast, we will save more lives.
Awareness Campaigns
When we join our voices together and collectively demand better for pancreatic cancer patients and their loved ones, progress happens. This is why Pancreatic Cancer Canada creates and participates in awareness campaigns that are both national and international in scope, to raise the profile of this disease and advocate for a better standard of care.
Cancer Action Now Alliance
Canadians need a new plan to address the backlogs in cancer care. We need Cancer Action Now.
Pancreatic Cancer Canada is a proud member of the Cancer Action Now alliance, which aims to address the systemic issues cancer patients currently face in our healthcare system, including the critical need for expedited diagnosis and care. From writing to candidates ahead of the Ontario election to participating in a recent Twitter Spaces event during the Council of the Federation, we are expounding the devastating effects the pandemic has had on cancer screening and treatment. Our work with this alliance of dozens of cancer charities and allied organizations will continue throughout the year as we urge our leaders to prioritize cancer care for Canadians.
